Joint preservation is a concept of restoring normal and pain-free function to the knee, hip, and shoulder joint. Joint preservation is achieved through the use of multi-modality treatment options that can include activity modifications, physical therapy, medications, injections, and sometimes surgery. Just as every patient is different, each patient’s joint preservation strategy is personalized for his or her age, activity level, expectations, and degree of joint dysfunction.
In recent years, joint preservation and joint restoration techniques have allowed individuals to put off joint replacement surgery. In general, these are performed in patients who may have some localized areas of pathology, bone spurs that are decreasing their motion, or any other patients for whom a total joint arthroplasty may not be indicated because of their age, activity level, or weight.
We are the first and only centre in central India who performs Joint Preservation through stem cell therapy.
